Dale Sr. is played by Barry Pepper, and Dale Jr. is played the real life driver Chad McCumbee.
If you're up for an absolute mess of a life, there's NHLer Brian 'Spinner' Spencer's story in the movie Gross Misconduct. Daniel Kash played Brian, and he's very much a 'Hey! It's that guy again!" for stuff filmed in Canada.

I loved Moneyball and it is my favorite sports movie. Almost perfect, however it is crazy they didn't talk about the rotation: Hudson, Zito, and Mulder were absolute monsters that season. It was almost like the reincarnation of Hunter, Holtzman, and Blue.
Interesting list. With the passing of Joe Flaherty (SCTV, Happy Gilmore etc.) the other day, and your first card on the list, reminds me of one of his parody episodes for SCTV - Chariots of Eggs he wrote and stared in. Funny stuff. I have one for you - Herb Brooks was played by Karl Malden in the 1981 movie Miracle on Ice.

A more philosophical question; what do you consider a sport? I definitely have my opinion as to what is and isn't a sport. For instance, our database has Poker, daredevils (Evel Knievel), chess players listed under Misc Sport. Thinking about biopics, there are some subjects that some might consider a "sport" (not me). Mountain climbing, rock climbing, surfing, skateboarding, gymnastics, etc. One definition: a game, competition, or activity needing physical prowess that is played or done according to rules, for enjoyment and/or as a job
| ||
I will try to follow the definition, so It rules out some the examples you mentioned...e.g. the Bobby Fischer chess biopics would not qualify, but competitive gymnasts would qualify. Thanks for all your suggestions.

Okay, we'll suggest 'em and you weed 'em out. :)
